Public Dedication & Unveiling of the Mural
If you missed this historic event, please enjoy these photographs. The LCS Children's Art Mural, designed and painted by Jesùs López Vega and Javier Zaragoza, celebrates nearly 60 years of the Children's Art Program started by philanthropist and writer Neill James. Many thanks to LCS and the Ajijic Society of the Arts (ASA) for their ongoing commitment and financial support.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM FIESTA LATINA
Thanks MAW for the slides
The Fiesta Latina was a very successful fundraiser for the Lake Chapala Society Community Education Programs. It was a day filled with good food and drink and entertaiments. The fundraising committee headed by Lois Cugini and Sharon Smith along with the Event committee raised over 100,000 pesos.

All this was made possible by the many wonderful volunteers who gave of their time and talents to produce an event that met the initial goals of the LCS Board, and provided excellent food, drink and lively entertainment as well. Restaurants, B&B's, boutique hotels, beach resorts as well as local artists, artisans, service providers donated high quality services and products resulting in Silent Auction bids that surpassed expections. Roberto of Roberto's Restaurant created an imaginative and flavorful Latin menu from appetizers, buffet comida and dessert. The entertainment consisted of dance performances by Juan Rosa & Anita, popular tango dancers from Guadalajara; Alberto & Graciella Costales, Cuban Salsa and Francisco and Judit Rajhathy demonstrated a sizzling Cumbia.
The 40 plus young-to elderly members of the Orquestra Tipica de Chapala led by the charismatic Javier Raygoza delighted everyone with their music. All in all Fiesta Latina proved to be a fun day at Lake Chapala Society grounds.
